Brand

Started in 2013 by popular demand in the artist studio after being asked constantly to show on apparel the illustrations which was offered at the time only on fine art prints.  As a result customers could wear exclusive designs originating from the studio walls.

Starting as a manually silkscreened printed t-shirts and locally sewn swimwear operation and after becoming more and more popular the designs expanded to other print on demand apparel, accessories and home goods .  Printed especially for the customer and no mass produced.

Currently still focusing on high quality hand printed t-shirts at the studio located in Fort Lauderdale, FL and personally designing new apparel offered through several printing companies in order to expand the brand into other fashionable products.

Philoshophy

These designs are a celebration of the masculine man, for those who feel comfortable in that identity without labels or stereotypes, for those that are proud and not afraid to show who they are and who they love.

"With the simplicity of the lines I like to find the minimal essence of masculinity to a point that anyone could identify with and show it with pride in your daily life".

Artist

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Chris López became interested in painting as a child and furthered his artistic education at Barcelona’s Pau Gargallo University, where he focused on graphic design, artistic illustration, and painting, while consecutively studying photography and set design for television and stage. Lopez is known for his intimate portrayals of the male form through oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, photography, charcoal drawing, printmaking, and digital art.

Lopez tends to showcase portraits of the male figure, painted with masterly technique. The artist recalls that he has gravitated toward the human form since his art school. He notes that he enjoyed the experience so much that twenty years have passed and he is still captivated by the practice of depicting the male aesthetics.

“I chose the male figure since in one way or another they show something interesting about being sexy and masculine, without any sexual reference,” he says of the subjects, “I find beauty in a rough masculine face and a classically proportioned body. My artwork is an example of my personal concept of the male aesthetics.”

López’s portraits seem to glow with life. There is strength and stoicism in his subjects, but an open, intimate quality as well that invites viewers to imagine the personalities behind the confident faces and sculpted muscles. Sometimes López works in oil, sometimes in acrylic with accents of gold leaf. Backdrops are minimal, unobtrusive, allowing the subjects the full focus of the viewer’s gaze.

Chris Lopez currently lives and works in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
